Ville Platte is a city located in Louisiana, United States. It serves as the largest city and the parish seat of Evangeline Parish. According to the 2020 census, the city had a population of 6,303, which represented a decrease from its 2000 population of 8,145.

The name Ville Platte is derived from French and translates roughly to "flat town." This name refers to the area's relatively flat topography, which stands in contrast to the more hilly terrain located to the north of the city.
