Shreveport is a city located in the U.S. state of Louisiana. It serves as the parish seat of Caddo Parish, with the majority of the city situated within that jurisdiction. The city's geography extends along the west bank of the Red River into neighboring Bossier Parish.
As of the 2020 census, Shreveport had a population of 187,593, making it the third-most populous city in Louisiana following New Orleans and Baton Rouge. The broader Shreveport–Bossier City metropolitan area recorded a total population of 393,406 during the same period.
