Saint Martinville is a city located in the state of Louisiana, United States. It serves as the parish seat for St. Martin Parish and is situated along Bayou Teche. The city is positioned approximately 13 miles south of Breaux Bridge, 16 miles southeast of Lafayette, and 9 miles north of New Iberia.
The municipality is part of the Lafayette metropolitan statistical area. According to U.S. census data, the population was recorded at 6,114 in 2010 and decreased to 5,379 by the 2020 census.
