New Iberia is the largest city and the parish seat of Iberia Parish in the state of Louisiana, United States. Located approximately 21 miles southeast of Lafayette, it forms part of the Lafayette metropolitan statistical area within the Acadiana region. As of the 2020 census, the city had a population of 28,555.
The city is served by several transportation links, including Amtrak’s Sunset Limited, which operates between Los Angeles and New Orleans. Major road access is provided by U.S. Route 90, a four-lane highway. For air travel, the city features its own general aviation airfield, Acadiana Regional Airport, while scheduled passenger and cargo services are accessible via the nearby Lafayette Regional Airport.
