Valley Station is a former census-designated place located in southwestern Jefferson County, Kentucky, in the United States. The area was historically named for its geographic position situated in the valley between Muldraugh Hill and the Knobs.
In 2003, when the government of Jefferson County merged with the city of Louisville, residents of Valley Station became citizens of Louisville Metro. Consequently, local media often refer to Valley Station as a neighborhood within the city limits of Louisville. At the time of the 2000 census, the population of the area was recorded at 22,946.
