Jeffersontown

Jeffersontown is a city located in Jefferson County, Kentucky, in the United States. As of the 2020 census, the city had a population of 28,474 residents. It serves as a major suburb of Louisville and is frequently referred to by the local nickname "J-town."

The city is notable for its administrative status within the region. When the Louisville Metro government was established in 2003, Jeffersontown chose to maintain its status as an independent city rather than being incorporated into the metro government. Consequently, it remains the largest municipality in the Louisville metro area outside of the city of Louisville itself.
