Brandenburg, officially known as the State of Brandenburg, is a landlocked state located in northeastern Germany. It serves as one of the country's significant administrative regions, bordering Poland to the east and several other German states, including Berlin, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Lower Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt, and Saxony.

The state ranks as the fifth-largest German state by area and is the tenth-most populous, with a total population of approximately 2.5 million residents. Potsdam serves as the state capital and its largest city. Other notable urban centers within the region include Cottbus, Brandenburg an der Havel, and Frankfurt (Oder).
