Great Bend is a city located in the state of Kansas, United States. It serves as the county seat for Barton County and has a recorded population of 14,733 as of the 2020 census.
The city derives its name from its geographical position at the point where the Arkansas River bends toward the east and then southeast. Additionally, Great Bend is home to Barton Community College.
