Vincennes is a commune located in the Val-de-Marne department within the eastern suburbs of Paris, France. It is situated approximately 6.7 km (4.2 mi) from the center of the city of Paris.
The commune is notably famous for the Château de Vincennes, a historic castle. While it shares its name with the adjacent Bois de Vincennes, the forest itself is attached to the city of Paris and is not included within the boundaries of Vincennes.
