Portage Park is a 36-acre public park located in the Portage Park community area of Chicago, Illinois. Situated on the National Register of Historic Places, the park extends from Irving Park Road on its southern boundary to Berteau Avenue between Central and Long Avenues. It serves as the largest public park on Chicago's Northwest Side.
The facility offers a wide range of recreational amenities, including six tennis courts, two playgrounds, an in-line skating slab, a bike path, and a nature walk. Sports facilities include five baseball fields, two combination football/soccer fields, and two fieldhouses containing a gymnasium and a cultural arts building. Additionally, the park features an Olympic-size pool with a large sunning deck, misting sprays, an interactive water play area with slides and diving boards, and a smaller heated pool.
Current development plans for the site include the construction of a new 6,500-square-foot senior center.
