Pittsfield is a city located in the state of Massachusetts in the United States. It serves as the county seat of Berkshire County and is the most populous city within that county. The city also functions as the principal city of the Pittsfield, Massachusetts Metropolitan Statistical Area.
According to the 2020 census, Pittsfield had a population of 43,927. While its population has experienced a decline in recent decades, it remains the third-largest municipality in Western Massachusetts, following only Springfield and Chicopee.
