Monmouth is a market town and community located in Monmouthshire, Wales. It is situated at the confluence of the River Monnow and the River Wye, positioned approximately two miles from the border between Wales and England.
The town served as the county town of historic Monmouthshire, though Abergavenny currently stands as the largest settlement in the area. Administratively, Monmouth is part of the UK Parliament constituency of Monmouthshire and the Senedd constituency of Monmouth. According to the 2011 census, the population was 10,508.
