Galesburg is a city located in Knox County, Illinois, in the United States. It is situated approximately 45 miles (72 km) northwest of Peoria.
As of the 2020 census, the city had a population of 30,052. The community serves as the home to two educational institutions: Knox College, a private four-year liberal arts college, and Carl Sandburg College, a community college named in honor of native-born poet Carl Sandburg.
