Buffalo Grove is a village located in the state of Illinois within the United States. It serves as a suburb of Chicago, situated approximately 30 miles northwest of Downtown Chicago and 20 miles north of O'Hare International Airport. The village is part of the larger Chicago Metropolitan Area.
The municipality spans a total area of 9.6 square miles, with three-quarters of its land located in Lake County and the remaining quarter in Cook County.
