Schofield Barracks is a United States Army installation and a census-designated place (CDP) located on the Hawaiian island of Oʻahu, Hawaiʻi. It is situated in Honolulu and within the Wahiawa District, positioned adjacent to the town of Wahiawā and separated from much of the town by Lake Wilson.
The installation is named in honor of Lieutenant General John McAllister Schofield, who served as the Commanding General of the United States Army from August 1888 to September 1895. During his time in Hawaiʻi starting in 1872, Schofield recommended the establishment of a naval base at Pearl Harbor.
