Valdosta is a city located in the U.S. state of Georgia and serves as the county seat of Lowndes County. It functions as the principal city of the Valdosta metropolitan statistical area, which includes Brooks County to the west and had a metropolitan population of 151,118 in 2023.
As of the 2020 U.S. Census, the city had a population of 55,378. Valdosta is home to Valdosta State University, a regional institution within the University System of Georgia that enrolled over 12,000 students as of 2021.
