Pompano Beach is a city located in Broward County, Florida, within the United States. It is situated along the coast of the Atlantic Ocean, positioned just north of Fort Lauderdale and approximately 36 miles north of Miami. The city's geography includes the nearby Hillsboro Inlet, which serves as part of the Atlantic Intracoastal Waterway.

As a principal city of the Miami metropolitan area, Pompano Beach had a population of 112,046 according to the 2020 census. This figure made it the sixth-largest city in Broward County, the ninth-largest city in the South Florida metropolitan area, and the 20th-largest city in the state of Florida.
