Ormond Beach is a city located in Volusia County, Florida, within the United States. Situated in Central Eastern Florida, it lies directly north of Daytona Beach and serves as a principal city of the Deltona–Daytona Beach–Ormond Beach Metropolitan Statistical Area. As of the 2020 census, the city had a population of 43,080.
The city is historically recognized as the birthplace of speed. This distinction stems from its hard-packed beaches, which attracted early adopters of motorized cars for yearlong entertainment during an era when paved roads were not yet common.
