North Miami

North Miami is a suburban city located in northeast Miami-Dade County, Florida, in the United States. Situated approximately 10 miles north of Miami, it is an integral part of the South Florida Miami metropolitan area and lies along Biscayne Bay.

The area was originally known as the "Town of Arch Creek" before being incorporated as the "Town of Miami Shores." It was renamed the "Town of North Miami" in 1931 and was subsequently reincorporated as a city in 1953. The city is notably home to the Biscayne Bay Campus of Florida International University.
