Miami Beach is a coastal resort city located in Miami-Dade County, Florida, in the United States. As a principal city within the South Florida metropolitan area, it is situated on a series of natural and human-made barrier islands positioned between the Atlantic Ocean and Biscayne Bay. The bay serves as the geographical boundary separating Miami Beach from the mainland city of Miami.

The municipality has been recognized as one of the premier beach resorts in the United States since the early 20th century. A significant portion of its commercial activity is concentrated in the neighborhood of South Beach, which, along with downtown Miami and PortMiami, constitutes the primary commercial center for the region. According to the 2020 census, the city had a population of 82,890.
