Lake Worth Beach, formerly known as Lake Worth, is a city located in east-central Palm Beach County, Florida, in the United States. It is situated approximately 63 miles north of Miami and lies within the Miami metropolitan area. The city is positioned south of West Palm Beach, southeast of Lake Clarke Shores, east of Palm Springs, and north of Lantana, with a small portion also partitioning the town of Palm Beach.
The name of the city originates from the Lake Worth Lagoon on its eastern border, which was named in honor of General William J. Worth. General Worth led United States Army forces during the final stages of the Second Seminole War. According to census data, the population grew from 34,910 in 2010 to 42,219 in 2020.
