Coconut Creek is a city located in Broward County, Florida, within the United States. It is situated approximately 37 miles (60 km) north of Miami and serves as part of the South Florida Miami metropolitan area. The city had an estimated population of 57,348 in 2022.
The municipality seceded from Pompano Beach during the 1960s. It is notably nicknamed the "Butterfly Capital of the World" due to its hosting of Butterfly World, which is recognized as the world's largest butterfly aviary. This facility houses over 80 species and more than 20,000 individual butterflies.
