Dover is a town, civil parish, and major ferry port located in Kent, England. It is situated southeast of Canterbury and east of Maidstone. The town serves as the administrative center for the Dover District and is home to the Port of Dover.
The town faces France across the Strait of Dover, which represents the narrowest part of the English Channel at 33 kilometres (21 mi) from Cap Gris-Nez in France. As of 2024, the estimated population of Dover was 44,209.
