Danbury is a city located in Fairfield County, Connecticut, in the United States. It is situated approximately 50 miles (80 km) northeast of New York City within the heart of the Housatonic Valley region.
As of 2020, the city had a population of 86,518, making it the seventh-largest city in Connecticut and the third-largest in Western Connecticut. Danbury serves as a historic commercial hub for western Connecticut and is home to many commuters and summer residents from both New England and the New York metropolitan area.
