La Junta is a home rule municipality located in southeastern Colorado, United States. It serves as the county seat and is the most populous municipality within Otero County. As of the 2020 United States census, the city had a population of 7,322.
The city is situated on the Arkansas River, approximately 68 miles east of Pueblo. Notable local landmarks and events include Otero College and the annual Tarantula Fest hosted by the community.
