Rowland Heights is an unincorporated community and census-designated place (CDP) located in Los Angeles County, California, within the San Gabriel Valley. Situated below the Puente Hills, it is part of the larger Los Angeles metropolitan area. The community had a population of 48,231 as recorded during the 2020 census.
The area is notable for being the second largest CDP in Los Angeles County by land area and the fifth largest by population. It features a high Taiwanese population and was historically referred to as "Little Taipei" during the 1980s and 1990s following an influx of wealthy immigrants from Taiwan.
