Palm Desert is a city located in the Coachella Valley region of Riverside County, California. It is situated within the Colorado Desert arm of the Sonoran Desert, approximately 14 miles east of Palm Springs, 121 miles northeast of San Diego, and 122 miles east of Los Angeles.
The city has experienced significant demographic growth since 1980, becoming one of the fastest-growing cities in the state during that period. According to the 2020 census, Palm Desert had a population of 51,163.
