Mission District

The Mission District, commonly referred to as the Mission, is a neighborhood located in San Francisco, California, in the United States. It is recognized as one of the oldest neighborhoods within the city.

The name of the district is derived from Mission San Francisco de Asís, which was constructed by the Spanish in 1776. Historically, the Mission has served as one of the most notable centers for the city's Hispanic community.
