Jurupa Valley is a city located in northwestern Riverside County, California, in the United States. The area served as the site of one of the county's earliest non-native settlements, known as Rancho Jurupa.
The history of the region includes its role as an initial outpost for the Mission San Gabriel Arcángel before becoming a Mexican land grant in 1838. The name Jurupa Valley is derived from a Native American village that occupied the area prior to European arrival.
