Huntington Beach is a city located in Orange County, California, in the United States. Situated approximately 35 miles southeast of Downtown Los Angeles, it is bordered by the Pacific Ocean to the southwest and various neighboring municipalities including Seal Beach, Westminster, Fountain Valley, Costa Mesa, and Newport Beach.
Originally established as Pacific City, the municipality was renamed in 1903 in honor of American businessman Henry E. Huntington. As of the 2020 United States census, the city had a population of 198,711, making it the most populous beach city in Orange County and the fourth most populous city within the county.
