Daly City is a city located in San Mateo County, California, within the United States. Situated in the San Francisco Bay Area, it lies immediately south of San Francisco. The city was named in honor of John Donald Daly, who was a local businessman and landowner.
As of the 2020 census, Daly City is the second-most populous city in San Mateo County with a population of 104,901. The demographic makeup of the city includes a majority Asian population of 57.3%, with 23.1% identifying as Hispanic or Latino of any race and 11.7% as non-Hispanic White. Notably, Filipino residents make up 33.2% of the total population.
