Camarillo

Camarillo is a city located in Ventura County, California, in the United States. According to the 2020 United States census, the city had a population of 70,741, representing an increase from the 65,201 residents recorded in 2010.

The city was founded by brothers Juan Camarillo, Jr. and Adolfo Camarillo, who were prominent Californios and owners of Rancho Calleguas. A notable local landmark is California State University Channel Islands, which is situated on the former grounds of the Camarillo State Mental Hospital.
