Magnolia is not a city in the United States. Rather, it is a large genus of flowering plants belonging to the subfamily Magnolioideae within the family Magnoliaceae.
The genus comprises approximately 210 to 340 different species. These plants have a disjunct natural range, with primary centers located in east, south, and southeast Asia. Secondary centers are found in South America, Central America, the West Indies, and parts of eastern North America.
