Harrisburg is the capital city of the U.S. commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Located on the east bank of the Susquehanna River, it sits approximately 83 miles southwest of Allentown and 107 miles northwest of Philadelphia. The city serves as the county seat of Dauphin County.

As a third-class city, Harrisburg is the ninth-most populous city in Pennsylvania, with a population of 50,099 recorded during the 2020 census. It is part of the Harrisburg–Carlisle metropolitan statistical area, which has an estimated population of 615,000 and ranks as the fourth-most populous metropolitan area in the state.
