Forrest City is a city located in Arkansas, United States. It serves as the county seat of St. Francis County and has a recorded population of 13,015 according to the 2020 census.
The city was named in honor of General Nathan Bedford Forrest, a Confederate war figure who later became the first Grand Wizard of the Ku Klux Klan. The naming originated from a construction crew camped at the site shortly after the Civil War to complete a railroad connecting Memphis and Little Rock. Locally, the city is identified by the nickname "Jewel of the Delta."
