The Ozarks, also referred to as the Ozark Mountains, Ozark Highlands, or Ozark Plateau, are a physiographic region located in the United States. The region spans across several states, covering a significant portion of northern Arkansas and most of the southern half of Missouri. It also extends into Oklahoma and a small area in the southeastern corner of Kansas.
Geographically, the Ozarks stretch from Interstate 40 in central Arkansas to Interstate 70 in central Missouri. The region is defined by its distinct highland terrain across these multiple state borders.
