Hayneville

Hayneville is a town located in Lowndes County, Alabama, in the United States. It serves as the county seat and is part of the Montgomery Metropolitan Area. As of the 2020 census, the town had a population of 830 residents.

The municipality initially incorporated in 1831 but later lapsed before finally reincorporating in 1967. Prior to 1970, Hayneville appeared only twice on the U.S. Census, in 1850 and 1890. During the 1850 census, an estimated population of 800 residents ranked it as the largest town in the county at that time.
