Andalusia is the southernmost autonomous community in Peninsular Spain, situated in the southern region of the Iberian Peninsula in southwestern Europe. It holds the distinction of being the most populous and the second-largest autonomous community within the country. The territory is officially recognized as a national reality and a historical nationality.
The region is divided into eight provinces: Almería, Cádiz, Córdoba, Granada, Huelva, Jaén, Málaga, and Seville. While Seville serves as the capital city of Andalusia, the seat of its High Court of Justice is located in the city of Granada.
