Utqiaġvik, formerly known and still sometimes referred to as Barrow, is the borough seat and largest city of the North Slope Borough in the U.S. state of Alaska. It is situated north of the Arctic Circle.
The city is recognized as one of the northernmost cities and towns in the world, as well as the northernmost in the United States. Its proximity to Point Barrow makes it a key location near the country's northernmost point.
