Ntoroko is a town located in the Ntoroko District of western Uganda. Officially known as Kanara Town Council, it is one of four town councils within the district, alongside Karugutu, Rwebisengo, and Kibuku Town Council.
The town serves as the largest fishing hub on the southern Mwitanzige shore. It is situated on Ntoroko Bay, which extends from Kanara Fishing Village to the western half of the Ntoroko Peninsula. This peninsula acts as a geographical barrier separating Ntoroko Bay from Muziizi Bay.
Ntoroko is accessible by road approximately 84 km northwest of Fort Portal City and 79 km north of Kibuku Town Council via Karugutu. The area is home to a diverse population, including Rwenzori peoples such as the Batooro/Batuku, Bakonzo, Bamba, and Babwisi; Bunyoro peoples like the Bagangaizi and Bagungu; Alur, Lendu, and Ngite groups; and Congolese residents from the Western Mwitanzige shore.
