Kakiri is a town situated in the Wakiso District within the Central Region of Uganda. It serves as a notable administrative and military hub for the country.
The town is home to the headquarters of the first division of the Uganda People's Defence Force (UPDF). Additionally, Kakiri is recognized as the hometown of Gilbert Bukenya, a former vice president of Uganda who represents the town and the surrounding Busiro North constituency in parliament.
