Zhytomyr is a city located in the northern part of the western half of Ukraine. It serves as the administrative center for Zhytomyr Oblast (province), the Zhytomyr Raion (district), and the surrounding Zhytomyr urban hromada (commune).
The city occupies an area of 65 square kilometers (25 sq mi) and has a population of 261,624. It is divided into two primary urban districts: Bohunskyi District and Koroliovskyi District.
