Zaporizhzhia is a city located in southeast Ukraine on the banks of the Dnieper River. It serves as the administrative center of the Zaporizhzhia Oblast and currently has a population of 710,052.
The city was formerly known as Aleksandrovsk or Oleksandrivsk until 1921, at which point it was renamed to its current name.
