Berdyansk is a port city located in the Zaporizhzhia Oblast of south-eastern Ukraine. Situated on the northern coast of the Sea of Azov, which connects to the Black Sea, the city serves as the administrative center of the Berdiansk Raion.
The city derives its name from the Berdiansk Spit, located at the foot of the Berda River. As of recent records, the population of Berdyansk is 106,311. The area is currently under Russian occupation.
