Mukachevo is a city located in the Zakarpattia Oblast of western Ukraine. It is situated within the valley of the Latorica River and serves as the administrative center for the Mukachevo Raion.

The city functions as a significant transportation hub, serving as both a rail terminus and a highway junction. Its local economy is supported by various industries, including beer, wine, tobacco, food, textiles, timber, and furniture production. During the Cold War era, the area was notable for hosting a radar station and the Mukachevo air base.
