Shalyhyne is a rural settlement located in the Shostka Raion of the Sumy Oblast region in Ukraine. It is situated on the banks of the Lapuha, which serves as a left tributary of the Kleven river within the drainage basin of the Dnieper.
The settlement serves as the administrative center for the Shalyhyne settlement hromada, one of the local administrative divisions in Ukraine. As of recent data, the population of Shalyhyne is approximately 2,226 residents.
