Velyki Sorochyntsi is a village located in the Myrhorod Raion of Poltava Oblast in central Ukraine. While it formerly held town status, it currently serves as the administrative center for the Velyki Sorochyntsi rural hromada.
The location is notable for being the birthplace of the writer Nikolai Gogol and for hosting the traditional Sorochyntsi Fair. Historically, the settlement was renamed Neronovychi from 1925 to 1931 in honor of Bolshevik activist Yevhen Neronovych, who was executed by Ukrainian military forces in the town in 1918.
