Lanna, also known as the Lanna Kingdom, was a historical kingdom centered in what is now present-day Northern Thailand. It existed from approximately the 13th to the 18th centuries.
The region was historically referred to by local people as Mueang Lanna or Mueang Lanna Tai. While it held these internal names, it was also identified by various exonyms used by its neighboring states during that period.
