Kadiivka, also known as Stakhanov, is a city located in the Alchevsk Raion of the Luhansk Oblast in the Donbas region of eastern Ukraine. It serves as the residence of the Kadiivka urban hromada and is situated along the Komyshuvakha River, which is a right tributary of the Luhan.
The city was officially renamed from Stakhanov back to Kadiivka by a decision of the Verkhovna Rada in 2016. Despite this official change, the Russian administration has maintained the Soviet name, Stakhanov, due to the ongoing Russian occupation of eastern Ukraine since early 2014.
