Alchevsk is a city located in the Donbas region of eastern Ukraine. It serves as the nominal administrative center of Alchevsk Raion within the Luhansk Oblast.
The city is situated approximately 45 kilometres from Luhansk, which is the administrative center of the oblast. With an estimated population of 106,062, Alchevsk ranks as the second-most populous city in Luhansk Oblast and the 38th-most populous city in Ukraine.
